This is a working overview of ghrelin receptor, written for readers who want more than a one-paragraph summary but less than a textbook.

At the receptor level, ipamorelin binds GHS-R1a and triggers signaling through Gq-coupled pathways. Activation leads to calcium release and downstream effects in pituitary somatotroph cells. These events promote the release of growth hormone into circulation. The response depends on the presence of the receptor and on the physiological state of the animal or tissue studied. Because the receptor is also found in other tissues, effects beyond the pituitary have been examined in laboratory models, though the extent of those effects remains an area of ongoing study.
One distinguishing feature reported in animal studies is selectivity. Ipamorelin stimulated growth hormone release with limited elevation of adrenocorticotropic hormone or cortisol compared with earlier secretagogues such as GHRP-6. This pattern has been described as more selective for the growth hormone axis. The finding comes mainly from preclinical work, and the degree to which it holds across species and doses is not fully settled. Reports also describe effects on gastric motility in animal models, suggesting activity outside the pituitary, though the clinical relevance of this observation is uncertain.
Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide that acts on the growth hormone secretagogue receptor, also known as the ghrelin receptor. Its sequence contains five amino acid residues, including a non-natural residue that increases stability against enzymatic breakdown. The compound was developed in the 1990s as part of research into small peptides that stimulate pituitary hormone release. Unlike larger protein hormones, it can be produced by solid-phase peptide synthesis and characterized by standard analytical methods.
The lyophilised solid is normally held at -20 °C or colder, shielded from light and moisture. Stability in that state is measured in years, although shelf life depends on residual water content and the container seal. Once dissolved, the peptide is more fragile: aqueous solutions are commonly kept at 2-8 °C and used within days to weeks, and repeated freeze-thaw cycling is avoided. Strongly acidic or basic conditions accelerate hydrolysis, and prolonged exposure to them can strip the terminal amide.
Purity assessment for this peptide relies mainly on reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography. A C18 column with a water-acetonitrile gradient containing trifluoroacetic acid separates the target from truncated sequences and oxidation products. Detection near 214 nm exploits the amide backbone, while the aromatic side chains allow additional monitoring close to 280 nm. Reported purity values depend on the method, so a certificate of analysis carries weight only when gradient, column and integration parameters are given.

Selectivity is the property most often attached to this peptide. Published animal and early human studies record increases in growth hormone release after administration, with adrenocorticotropic hormone and cortisol responses remaining small by comparison. Effects on appetite-related pathways also appear weaker than those reported for several earlier secretagogues. Reviews that compare members of the growth hormone secretagogue family cite these findings frequently, though the receptor-level explanation for the selectivity continues to be debated rather than settled.
Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide classified as a growth hormone secretagogue. Its sequence, Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2, combines three non-proteinogenic residues with a C-terminal amide. The N-terminal aminoisobutyric acid unit and the two aromatic D-amino acids distinguish it from peptides assembled only from standard L-amino acids. Its formula is C38H49N9O5, corresponding to an average mass near 711.9 Da. At neutral pH the molecule carries a net positive charge, a property that shapes its behaviour in chromatographic and electrophoretic systems.
Compared with other secretagogues such as GHRP-2, GHRP-6, and hexarelin, ipamorelin is described as more selective. Published animal work reports little or no increase in adrenocorticotropic hormone, cortisol, or prolactin at doses that release growth hormone. This selectivity is the property most often cited in the research literature. Whether the same profile holds across species and dosing schedules remains an open question, since human data are limited and come largely from small studies.
Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide that belongs to the growth hormone secretagogue family. Its sequence is Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2, and its molecular mass is approximately 711.9 daltons. The compound was described in the late 1990s by researchers seeking molecules that release growth hormone with fewer side effects than earlier secretagogues. It is a laboratory and research compound, not an approved medicine in most jurisdictions.
At the molecular level, ipamorelin acts as an agonist at the growth hormone secretagogue receptor, also called the ghrelin receptor or GHS-R1a. Binding to this receptor on pituitary somatotroph cells triggers a signaling cascade that leads to growth hormone release. The effect is mediated through phospholipase C and calcium mobilization rather than through the cyclic AMP pathway used by growth hormone releasing hormone. The two pathways are complementary, and combined stimulation produces a larger response than either alone.
Identity and purity assessment for a research peptide of this kind typically combines reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography with mass spectrometry. The chromatographic run separates related impurities and yields a purity percentage, while electrospray ionization or matrix-assisted laser desorption mass spectrometry confirms the expected molecular mass. Amino acid analysis or tandem mass spectrometry sequencing can add confidence when material is intended for quantitative work. Laboratories differ in how they calculate and report purity, so figures from different sources are not always directly comparable.
Lyophilized material is generally stored cold and dry, with desiccant, and protected from light. In solution the peptide is more vulnerable: the histidine side chain can oxidize, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles promote aggregation and loss of material to container surfaces. A mildly acidic aqueous buffer is often used for short-term handling because it limits several degradation routes. Accurate prediction of long-term stability under a given set of conditions is difficult, and published stability data remain sparse.
The suspensory muscle of duodenum (also known as suspensory ligament of duodenum, Treitz's muscle or ligament of Treitz) is a thin muscle connecting the junction between the duodenum and jejunum (the small intestine's first and second parts, respectively), as well as the duodenojejunal flexure to connective tissue surrounding the superior mesenteric and coeliac arteries. The suspensory muscle most often connects to both the third and fourth parts of the duodenum, as well as the duodenojejunal flexure, although the attachment is quite variable. The suspensory muscle marks the formal division between the duodenum and the jejunum. This division is used to mark the difference between the upper and lower gastrointestinal tracts, which is relevant in clinical medicine as it may determine the source of gastrointestinal bleeding. The suspensory muscle is derived from mesoderm and plays a role in the embryological rotation of the gut, by offering a point of fixation for the rotating gut. It is also thought to help digestion by widening the angle of the duodenojejunal flexure. Superior mesenteric artery syndrome is a rare abnormality caused by a congenitally short suspensory muscle.
=== Macronutrients === Supplementation of protein in the diet of healthy adults increases the size and strength of muscles during prolonged resistance exercise training (RET); protein intakes of greater than 1.62 grams per kilogram of body weight a day did not additionally increase fat–free mass (FFM), muscle size, or strength, in a non-energy restricted context. Older lifters may experience less of an effect from protein supplementation on resistance training. It is not known how much carbohydrate is necessary to maximize muscle hypertrophy. Strength adaptations may not be hindered by a low-carbohydrate diet. A light, balanced meal prior to the workout (usually one to two hours beforehand) ensures that adequate energy and amino acids are available for the intense bout of exercise. The type of nutrients consumed affects the response of the body, and nutrient timing whereby protein and carbohydrates are consumed prior to and after workout has a beneficial impact on muscle growth. Water is consumed throughout the course of the workout to prevent poor performance due to dehydration. A protein shake is often consumed immediately following the workout. However, the anabolic window is not particularly narrow and protein can also be consumed before or hours after the exercise with similar effects. Glucose (or another simple sugar) is often consumed as well since this quickly replenishes any glycogen lost during the exercise period.
=== First descriptions === In 1797, John Rollo reported on the results of treating two diabetic Army officers with a low-carbohydrate diet and medications. A very low-carbohydrate diet was the standard treatment for diabetes throughout the nineteenth century. In 1825, Jean Brillat-Savarin promoted a low-carb diet in his book, The Physiology of Taste. In 1863, William Banting, a formerly obese English undertaker and coffin maker, published "Letter on Corpulence Addressed to the Public", in which he described a diet for weight control giving up bread, butter, milk, sugar, beer, and potatoes. His booklet was widely read, so much so that some people used the term "Banting" for the activity now called "dieting". Physicians who advocated a low-carbohydrate diet consisting of large amounts of animal fat and protein to treat diabetes in the late 1800s include James Lomax Bardsley, Apollinaire Bouchardat and Frederick William Pavy. Arnaldo Cantani isolated his diabetic patients in locked rooms and prescribed them an exclusive animal-based diet. In the early 1900s Frederick Madison Allen developed a highly restrictive short term regime which was described by Walter R. Steiner at the 1916 annual convention of the Connecticut State Medical Society as The Starvation Treatment of Diabetes Mellitus. This diet was often administered in a hospital in order to better ensure compliance and safety.
An artery (from Greek ἀρτηρία (artēríā)) is a blood vessel in humans and most other animals that takes oxygenated blood away from the heart in the systemic circulation to one or more parts of the body. Exceptions that carry deoxygenated blood are the pulmonary arteries in the pulmonary circulation that carry blood to the lungs for oxygenation, and the umbilical arteries in the fetal circulation that carry deoxygenated blood to the placenta. It consists of a multi-layered artery wall wrapped into a tube-shaped channel. Arteries contrast with veins, which carry deoxygenated blood back towards the heart; or in the pulmonary and fetal circulations carry oxygenated blood to the lungs and fetus respectively.
=== Sleep === Because of its sedative properties, diphenhydramine is widely used in nonprescription sleep aids for insomnia. The drug is an ingredient in several products sold as sleep aids. Diphenhydramine can cause minor psychological dependence. Diphenhydramine has also been used as an anxiolytic. Diphenhydramine has been used off-label by parents in an attempt to make their children sleep and to sedate them on long-distance flights. This has been met with criticism, both by doctors and by members of the airline industry, because sedating passengers may put them at risk if they cannot react efficiently to emergencies, and because the drug's side effects, especially the chance of a paradoxical reaction, may make some users hyperactive. Addressing such use, the Seattle Children's Hospital argued, in a 2009 article, "Using a medication for your convenience is never an indication for medication in a child." The American Academy of Sleep Medicine's 2017 clinical practice guidelines recommended against the use of diphenhydramine in the treatment of insomnia, because of poor effectiveness and low quality of evidence. A major systematic review and network meta-analysis of medications for the treatment of insomnia published in 2022 found little evidence to inform the use of diphenhydramine for insomnia.

The horticulture industry embraces the production, processing and shipping of and the market for fruits and vegetables. As such it is a sector of agribusiness and industrialized agriculture. Industrialized horticulture sometimes also includes the floriculture industry and production and trade of ornamental plants. Among the most important fruits are:
=== Preservation of bog bodies === The preservation of bog bodies is dependent on a set of specific physical conditions, which can occur in peat bogs. A sphagnum moss bog must have a temperature lower than 4 °C (39 °F) at the time of deposition of the body. The subsequent average annual temperature must be lower than 10 °C (50 °F). Moisture must be stable in the bog year-round: it cannot dry out. Sphagnum moss affects the chemistry of nearby water, which becomes highly acidic (a pH of roughly 3.3 to 4.5) relative to a more ordinary environment. The concentration of dissolved minerals also tends to be low. Dying moss forms layers of sediment and releases sugars and humic acids which consume oxygen. Since the surface of the water is covered by living moss, water becomes anaerobic. As a result, human tissues buried in the bog tend to tan rather than decay.
== Electronic Associates, Inc. == In 1963, Finnigan and Uthe joined Electronic Associates, Inc. (EAI). The main research department of the company was based in Princeton, New Jersey, but Finnigan founded a new Scientific Instruments Division in Palo Alto, California. Finnigan's vision involved creation of a broad-based line of process-control instruments, beginning with the quadrupole mass spectrometer. Based on previous research at SRI, Finnigan was convinced that a market existed, but EAI and other companies such as IBM and Beckman Instruments were not interested in developing the quadrupole as a product at that time. Finnigan's group proposed to contract parts of the quadrupole production to SRI, but management at SRI were not interested in its commercial development either. Eventually Finnigan collaborated with staff from SRI, who supplied knowledge and expertise to help Finnigan's group bootstrap development of a prototype quadrupole analyzer at EAI. Because of the strong market demand the EAI division was able to sell more than 500 of these quadrupole residual gas analyzers between 1964 and 1966. Finnigan wanted to pursue development of computer-controlled instrumentation for a combined gas chromatograph (GC) and quadrupole mass spectrometer (MS). However, EAI's main focus was analog computers, and they were not interested in developing a computerized GC/MS. On December 31, 1966, after EAI unsuccessfully attempted to sell the division to Syntex Corporation, Finnigan submitted his resignation to EAI.

=== Development === T3 has profound effect upon the developing embryo and infants. It affects the lungs and influences the postnatal growth of the central nervous system. It stimulates the production of myelin, the production of neurotransmitters, and the growth of axons. It is also important in the linear growth of bones.
These checks are usually done using power flow studies. Transient Stability involves the study of the power system following a major disturbance. Following a large disturbance in the synchronous alternator the machine power (load) angle changes due to sudden acceleration of the rotor shaft. The objective of the transient stability study is to ascertain whether the load angle returns to a steady value following the clearance of the disturbance. The ability of a power system to maintain stability under continuous small disturbances is investigated under the name of Dynamic Stability (also known as small-signal stability). These small disturbances occur due to random fluctuations in loads and generation levels. In an interconnected power system, these random variations can lead catastrophic failure as this may force the rotor angle to increase steadily. Steady state determination is an important topic, because many design specifications of electronic systems are given in terms of the steady-state characteristics. Periodic steady-state solution is also a prerequisite for small signal dynamic modeling. Steady-state analysis is therefore an indispensable component of the design process. In some cases, it is useful to consider constant envelope vibration—vibration that never settles down to motionlessness, but continues to move at constant amplitude—a kind of steady-state condition.

== History == MrMed was conceived in August 2020 when Devashish Singh and Saurab Jain noticed challenges in specialty medicines. Despite facing initial setbacks due to the COVID Delta wave in India, which prompted the founders and their team to prioritize community assistance, MrMed was officially launched in June 2021. The company launched its mobile app in March 2023 for access to speciality medicines for conditions such as cancer, transplants, kidney, or liver diseases. It also raised $500,000 in funding from the Tamil Nadu Emerging Sector Seed Fund (TNESSF) and angel investors. On 8 December 2025, the company announced a strategic partnership with the American multinational pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly to support the distribution of specialty medicines in India.
=== Debate over origins === Murdijati Gardjito, a food historian at Gadjah Mada University, argued that tempeh was made by native Javanese people and that its preparation predates the introduction of Chinese-style tofu products. Some ancient texts mention tempe dhele, old Javanese for 'native soybean tempeh'; dhele was used to refer to the native soybean variety. White soybeans that are used to make most tempe dhele today used to be called dhele putih ('white soybeans'), and were only available in Java centuries later. Mary Astuti, a food historian at Gadjah Mada University specializing in tempeh, argued that the native variety of soybean had been grown before the Chinese arrived in the region. Sri Tandjung noted that Javanese had been eating cooked (native black) soybeans since the 12th century. By the 16th or the 19th century, depending on which period of time the writer of Serat Centhini referred to, Javanese people had mastered the art of cooking with tempeh, when it was not only eaten as is, but converted into different types of dishes, showing a full understanding and mastery of the food product. Gardjito noted that Javanese noble families rarely wrote about tempeh in ancient texts because it had never been a part of royal cuisine, but rather a staple food of the lower classes. Indonesian historian Ong Hok Ham suggests that tempeh might have been produced as a byproduct of tahu, the Indonesian word for tofu.

It acts on the growth hormone secretagogue receptor, GHS-R1a, which is also the receptor for ghrelin. Binding triggers intracellular signaling that promotes growth hormone release from the pituitary. The interaction is the basis for its classification as a secretagogue.
In animal studies it showed greater selectivity for growth hormone release, with less effect on cortisol and adrenocorticotropic hormone than compounds such as GHRP-6. This selectivity is one of the most frequently cited features in preclinical literature. Whether the same profile applies in other contexts is not fully established.
The receptor-level events are reasonably well described, but the full range of downstream effects is not. Studies have reported activity in tissues beyond the pituitary, including the gut. How these observations translate across species and conditions remains an open question.
Results are most often expressed as a percentage of total peak area from a reversed-phase separation. That figure reflects the detection wavelength, gradient and integration choices used by the laboratory. Two valid certificates can therefore quote different values for the same material without either being incorrect.
